Angelo Giajnorio, affectionately known as "Ange" to everyone in the sports community, started his coaching career in 1965 with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 51.  Subsequently, Ange joined the original Niagara Falls Minor Hockey Association as an assistant coach to Louis Gallardi, in the Lincoln Trust "AA" Division.   In 1974, Ange became Head Coach of the "AA" Peewee Team and was elected to the executive of the Niagara Falls Minor Hockey Association (NFMHA)

In 1981, Ange partnered with Doug Sauer and the Stanford Lions Club to run the Annual Atom Hockey Tournament until 1998.  Ange acted as convenor for Novice to Midget House League teams, as well as coach for the AAA Midget hockey team.  In addition, Ange was the liason for the NFMHA between the South Central AAA league and the Niagara District Hockey League.   

Ange had the distinction of being a lifetime member of the NFMHA.   For decades, Ange was a volunteer with the Niagara Falls Canucks Junior B team, the Niagara Falls Minor Hockey Association and the Niagara District Girls Hockey League.

In 2001 Ange was awarded the George MacPhail award which is presented to an individual or organization who has contributed outstanding volunteer service in recreation to the citizens

In 2004  Ange was inducted to the Niagara Falls Sports wall of fame

In 2008 Ange was awarded the RBC Hockey Leader Award.

Ange dedicated an enormous amount of time to minor sports in Niagara Falls and had a positive influence on many young athletes in our city.
