The Niagara
Falls Riverhawks U18 AA Hockey Club (representing Niagara Falls Minor Hockey) participated
in Mayor Jim’s Charity Community BBQ “FIRE TRUCK PULL” on Saturday September
14, 2024 with proceeds to benefit Niagara Health Foundations.
Players in
attendance included Parker D., Mason N., Zach G., Jake S., Travis G., Jeff V.,
Dylan S., Colton V., AJ B. and Lucas D. along with NFMHA Executive member Chris
G., Assistant Coach Eric S. and Team Trainer Kaleb N. with support from countless family
members who were also in attenandance.
With
approximately 15 teams entered (including teams from the City of Niagara Falls,
Niagara Falls Fire Department, Niagara Regional Police, Niagara Emergency
Services just to name a few), the competition consisted of teams pulling a
firetruck for a distance of approximately 60 feet, with the fastest 3 teams
moving onto the finals.
Players
from our team completed 2 pulls with our fastest time being 10.4 seconds
leaving us in second place after 5 teams.
As the other teams progressed we remained in the top 3 until the very
last team pulled with a time of 10.2 seconds knocking us into 4th
place and out of the finals.
Although
disappointing we did not get another chance, our players did a great job representing our team and Niagara Falls Minor Hockey!!
Thank-you
to all of our players, families and staff members in attendance. Your support was greatly appreciated!
