TRYING OUT IN A HIGHER SERIES

(Underage players)

 

In accordance with the OMHA guidelines, any player may tryout in a higher series.  NFMHA, has set certain criteria to approve this advancement. This criteria is designed for “Exceptional Players”.

“Exceptional Player” is defined as a player who is:

The #1 player in their own age group and one of the top 2 players in the age group in which they are trying out for, regardless of position

Goalies must be rated #1 at the higher age

REGULATIONS:

In order for a player to try out at for a higher series team the player must comply with the following:

1. Register and pay the required Association Tryout fee for their age appropriate division.

2. Submit the underage tryout form and fee by the following dates:

                U9 and below – April 7th 2025

                U10 and above – April 14th 2025

3. Pay the non-refundable fee, through e transfer to NFMHA prior to the evaluation being scheduled. ([email protected])

 

PROCEDURES:

1. The Evaluation Committee which the VP of Rep will select will meet to evaluate whether they feel the player warrants a tryout in the age group above.

2. If the player is permitted to tryout, the Evaluation Committee will attend during the tryout process, of the higher division team to assess the player and determine, in their opinion, if the player is deemed to be exceptional

3. The Evaluation Committee will conduct a vote before the final tryout to determine the player’s status.
This will be passed on to the president of NFMHA at that time a final decision will be made by all parties
The vote will be a majority decision with no appeal, and will be communicated with the player/family by the Committee

4. The coach, player, and parent are expected to comply with and accept the decision of the NFMHA in accordance with the Code of Conduct.
