A Message from our President
Hello NFMHA Families,
My name is Gary Giajnorio and I am the new incoming President of Niagara Falls Minor Hockey.
Having over 35 years as a Player, Coach, Executive Member and now President, I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome all of you back to rink for the 2024-2025 season!!!
Starting this past May (immediately after our Annual General Meeting), your new Executive Board has been busy through the summer preparing for this season. With updates internally first to our Organizational Structure, our constitution as well as updates to existing policies and the creation of some new policies, all of these changes were done to bring our association forward to meet the new demands of Hockey now and into the immediate future.
Our Board next turned it’s attention to the partnerships and re-branding of all of our clubs to align us with both of our Junior Programs in Niagara Falls so that all of us together can continue to grow hockey in the Niagara Region. From the design, approval and ordering of all the new Jerseys and Apparel to the painting of our offices, boardroom, 2 x Dressing Rooms in Gale 4 as well as our U18 AA Room in Chippawa the rebranding effort has been monumental, but it is nice to see the efforts paying off with players and teams wearing our new logo, colors and apparel!!
These efforts were not just directed towards our Rep Teams. The same effort and attention has also been given to all of our HL/LL Teams for this season. Working closely with our VP House league, we identified and addressed several deficiencies to better strengthen our HL/LL programs.
These initiatives include but are not limited to added development programs for our HL teams/players, stronger supports for our HL/LL Coaches and Convenors as well as easier access to apparel that includes branding that aligns to our association regardless of level.
With the above noted changes, we have also taken steps to make our web-site more useful and informative including the use of on-line schedules for all teams (posting month’s into the future) so families and teams can plan the busy lives we all have outside and away from the rink! Each team/league also now has access to manage and update their respective parts of the web to share with everyone all that our teams and leagues are doing.
I am grateful for the work that the board and countless others have done to date, but we all know that there is still a lot more to do. In the coming months, I am excited to see how these new initiatives unfold to not only strengthen Niagara Falls Minor Hockey but to also further the development and enjoyment of ALL our players playing this year regardless of what age or level they are playing at. Hockey really is for everyone!!
Finally, a special Thanks to all new and returning NFMHA families. We appreciate all of you and look forward to the success of your children and teams as 2024-2025 unfolds!!
Yours in Hockey,
Gary Giajnorio
