OMHA CHAMPIONS!
Submitted By Julia Paul on Monday, March 25, 2019
Congratulations to our Novice AA’s on their sweep of the Belle River Canadiens on the weekend to win the OMHA Novice West AA championship!

The Canadiens entered the series with a 30-4-3 league and playoff record, winning the regular season championship in the Bluewater Hockey League and sweeping the Windsor Junior Spitfires 3-0 in their OMHA semi-final series.

The Novice AA’s swept the Garden City Falcons 4-0 in their OMHA semi-final series.

They travelled to Belle River for games 1 and 2 of the finals on Friday and Saturday, winning 3-0 and 4-2.  They completed the sweep before a packed house in Rink 4 of the Gale Centre on Sunday, with a completely dominant 5-1 victory.

Coach Brandon Boone was pleased with the team’s performance and, more importantly, the cohesiveness, dedication and good sportsmanship that the coaches, parents and players demonstrated, both on and off the ice.  Their quest for a second red hat starts at tryouts in a few weeks!
