Exciting Changes To Our Programs For The 2016-2017 Season
Submitted By atavano on Friday, February 12, 2016
We are pleased to announce the following changes to our programs for the 2016-2017 season, all of which will directly benefit our parents and players:

Player fees

Player fees for our rep teams, which formerly consisted of a basic registration fee of as high as $695, depending on when it was paid, and a rep fee of $900, have been reduced to $1,500. They can be paid in three instalments, $500 by May 31, $500 by July 1 and $500 by August 15, if parents wish. A late fee of $100 will apply to payments made after August 15.

Tryout fees for our rep teams will be unchanged at $120.

Player fees for our house league teams, which formerly consisted of a basic registration fee of as high as $695, depending on when it was paid, have been reduced to $630. They can be paid in two instalments, $315 by July 1 and $315 by August 15, if parents wish. An early bird discount of $35 will apply if they are paid in full by May 31 for a total of $595. A late fee of $50 will apply to payments made after August 15.

Player fees for our initiation program, which formerly consisted of a basic registration fee of as high as $475, depending on when it was paid, have been reduced to $460. They can be paid in two instalments, $230 by July 1 and $230 by August 15, if parents wish. A late fee of $50 will apply to payments made after August 15.

Player fees for our Junior Flyers program, which were formerly $275, have been increased to $360, as we have dedicated additional ice time to this program, from approximately 35 hours last season to more than 40 hours this season. Our initiation and Junior Flyers programs are now featured on the website of the OMHA Regional Development Leader for Region 2, Wayne King, and have become a model for other associations to follow. Our initiation program convenor, Brandon Boone, has been nominated for the OMHA Excellence in Development Award, as a result of his work with these programs.

Family discounts will be unchanged at 25% off of player fees for families registering three or more children.

Team fees

Team fees for our rep teams, which formerly consisted of an assessment fee of $2,000 per team, a gate fee of $50 per player and a jersey sponsorship of $2,000 per team, have been reduced to $3,000 per team and will include, among other things:

1. Professional on-ice skill testing at least twice per season, with comparative results reported to the coaches, parents and executive

2. Professional on-ice goaltender clinics at least once per month

3. Professional on-ice player instruction at least once per month

As before, our rep teams can fundraise to pay their team fees, if they wish, or to pay for additional ice time or professional instruction.

Tournaments

We will offer our rep and house league teams 50% off of the registration fee for any tournament hosted by us.

Satisfaction survey

We will send an online satisfaction survey to our parents at the end of the season. Our goal is to ensure, among other things, that our players had fun, while developing as hockey players and individuals.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns with respect to the above, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
